What is Kybella?

Kybella is an FDA-approved, noninvasive aesthetic treatment — a bile acid medication — used to rid you of fat under your chin, also known as a double chin or submental fat. Kybella is an injection that goes into fat pockets to permanently destroy fat cells in problem areas.

What should I expect during Kybella treatments?

Before your Kybella appointment, Waseem examines the skin that hangs under your chin to determine which aesthetic treatment is most appropriate. If he recommends Kybella, you’ll receive injections during a treatment session that lasts about 15-20 minutes.

There is little to no downtime after Kybella injections. After your session, you may experience the following side effects near the treated area:

  • Bruising
  • Swelling
  • Pain
  • Numbness
  • Redness
  • Areas of hardness

If you notice drainage or open sores in the treated area under your chin, call Waseem.

How many Kybella treatments will I need?

Each patient has unique aesthetic skin care needs, so the number of Kybella treatment sessions you’ll require varies. Waseem lets you know how many treatments will get you the results you’re after. Many people receive up to six Kybella sessions.

You may notice results from Kybella treatment anywhere from 8-10 weeks after your session. Fat loss from Kybella is often permanent.

Is Kybella treatment right for me?

If you suffer from excess fat under your chin that’s hindering your self-confidence and quality of life, you may be a good candidate for Kybella. Schedule a consultation with Waseem to determine if Kybella is right for you. Studies show that Kybella is safe, effective, and well-tolerated by patients. You might not be a good match if you are:

  • Pregnant
  • Plan to become pregnant
  • Breastfeeding
  • Taking blood thinners
  • Have certain medical conditions
  • Had recent surgery or other cosmetic procedures on your face

If Kybella isn’t the right fit for you, Waseem may recommend other aesthetic procedures to get rid of unwanted fat pockets.

When you’re ready to take the next step toward a happier, more self-confident life, call Dontage today or book a Kybella consultation online with Waseem.
